Tours and ultrasound

Ciao!!

I had my first ultrasound at the MTC! I never thought that I would say those words, lol.  So basically what happened is this....

My district got assigned to be the testifiers and the starters for the tour.  Everybody was terrified to be a starter except for me, so I volunteered to do it (dragging Sorella Pacheco with me).  It was fine though because only one of us had to talk, and I like to talk a lot, so I talked the whole time and loved it!! Basically the starters welcome people to the MTC, tell them who you are, where you're going, and some things about how the tour works and send them on their way.  Super easy, super fun!

Well about halfway through this exciting adventure (for me, for Sorella Pacheco it was too much standing for her liking lol).  My leg started to do this really weird thing where it like had this dull pain that I could ignore, but then it got worse the longer I stood and then I got really dizzy and felt sick, and got like sweaty all over.  If I sat down I was fine though, so between busses I would sit down.  (The busses came every 2 min).  I made it through that and then got back to the apartment and took some pain meds, and then was fine for Devo and Devo review.

The next day I was fine for like half of the day, but then when Sorella Pacheco and I were at the bookstore ordering t-shirts, It started hurting way worse than before.  And I basically ditched my companion to find someplace to sit down before I passed out.  Fortunately she is a good companion and followed me out to the hallway.  That is when Marshall came into the picture.  I had been sitting for a bit and the pain wasn't easing up.  So Marshall and his companions walk in and I'm like "Marshall, do you have any drugs on you?" yep.... just like that.... He said he had some at home, and that he could get them after the appointment.  then he went upstairs.  Sorella Pacheco and I said a prayer and then I decided that I needed to go to the nurse.  After that my leg started to behave, which I took as a sign that I made the right choice.

We went upstairs, and they sent us to the ER, who decided that it was close enough to blood clot like symptoms that they should check it out to make sure before I left the country.  So back to the MTC to get the pass for that, then back to the ER for the ultrasound.

Before we went back for the ultrasound they called mom to ask for insurance info.  They were like, she is getting checked for a blood clot.  So I was like oh no... Mom thinks I'm dying.... The next time I saw marshall I told him to tell Mom I wasn't dying on his P Day

The ultrasound was really cool.  I'm pretty sure that I was the favorite patient the ultrasound guy had that day, because I was having a blast learning how ultra sounds work and listening to the blood flowing through my veins.  I love things like that.  Good news! No blood clot, bad news, no idea what was wrong.  They just told me to take pain meds until A. It gets better, or B. It has been a week without getting better.

So fast forward to when we finally get back to the classroom.  (One hour after class was supposed to start).  We see a note on the board that says, "Sorelle, We are on a field trip, sit at your desks and think about what you did! (Just kidding you're not in trouble) we'll be back soon. - Fratello Harbin"  We laughed about that and then worked on language study till they got back.

When they got back the teacher was like what happened, and then I explained that we went to the ER, but I said it in Italian, so the class was like oblivious to what it was, but it totally concerned him, and then his concern concerned them, so then I was explaining in english that my leg had revolted on me, but pain meds made everything better.

I got a blessing last night from the zone leaders (two of the Anziani in my district) and I haven't needed pain meds since.  The blessing was a really interesting experience, because I was their first blessing other than their moms. They did really well, but their hands were shaking so bad because of how nervous they were.

Also Anziano Bednar came! It was awesome! We didn't get back home till 10:15 because he stayed up late talking to us answering our questions. I was like ten feet from him because Sorella Pacheco gets the devotionals translated in a headset thingy so we have reserved up close seats.  I also have included a creepy stalker shot of my cousin Joseph in the pics.  He happened to be sitting near us, and I had a camera, lol.

We have this thing called SYL (Speak Your Language) at the MTC where basically you speak as much of your language as you know 24/7.  It super helps, but sometimes I don't know what I'm language I'm saying things in.  For example I was talking to Sorella Pacheco and we ran into this guy on the tour and he was like where are y'all going? And I said Italy, and he was like oh, is today SYL? And I thought that was a weird question because everyday is SYL, but I said yes, everyday is SYL.  And then he was like oh, I'll talk to someone who can speak english.  And that was when I realized that I had been speaking entirely in Italian.  Sorella Pacheco hadn't noticed either.  We were like, no wait, we can speak in english!  It was super funny.

Also I have included a pic of Anziano Gary for your benefit.  He is a snail that I found.  He likes me.  I brought him to class, and then after class I returned him to the bushes.

More pics in a separate email...
Ciao!
Sorella Nelson
