Benvenuti tutti!
I shook Anziano Neal L. Anderson's
hand on Tuesday! He was the devo speaker, and after devo he came around and
shook random missionaries hands! (yeah dad, I said random) I was one of the
lucky ones!
This last week I performed in two
worldwide missionary broadcasts (in the MTC choir) I was also on the screen
when he was shaking my hand. I think the broadcasts were just for the MTC's
around the world though. The first was Elder Ballard (his grandson is in my
zone) and the second was elder Anderson. I was in the choir for both of them.
Choir is one of my favorite parts of the MTC. I love singing, and the choir
director is hilarious! Sundays are one of the hardest days at the MTC. It
is all study, and meetings. Choir is a nice break from sitting
still. I mean, you're still sitting pretty still.... but at least you're
basically screaming at the top of your lungs at the same time.
I have never officially introduced
y'all to my district. Anziano Kjar (pronounced care) is super happy all
of the time. He also really cares about everyone in the district.
He is very excited to learn Italian, and his excitement is contagious. It
was really funny because the other day he was teaching a lesson and when the
investigator invited him into the room the investigator said "please have
a seat" but Anziano Kjar thought he said how are you, so he responded
"FANTASTICO!" It was soooo funny! The investigator hadn't
ever met somebody so excited to take a seat.
Anziano Ross is like the dad of the
district. He always makes sure that everyone is included and feels
loved. One day Sorella Pacheco and I were talking about how the cake
looked really good. Anziano Ross got up and got us each a slice. It
was awesome! Also he speaks ASL, so that is fun!
Anziano Bona (aka. Il capitano) is
actually Italian and has duel citizenship. He always is saying super
deep, really good comments.
Anziano Haws is exactly what you
expect of a teenage boy. Moreso than the others. He is the drama
king. He has tried to roll his r's for hours at a time (it sounds like a
bee flying around or something), because that is what he believes is important
to be able to do, lol. When called upon though, he is able to
focus. But, if you want to see a lot of passion from him either ask him
about his MTC barbershop experience (the barber chopped off his 'precious
locks') or get him talking about whether BYU or the U is better. Sorella
Pacheco and I have listened to the entire class argue several times on that
topic. Anziano Haws is always the most passionate of the group. (he
is pro BYU for those who care)
Anziano Lewis is super funny, but
mostly in relation to Anziano Rummins (his companion) he doesn't say a lot, but
his facial reactions to what other people say have me in stitches. He
also does do a really good Kipp voice.
Anziano Rummins is by far the
greatest source of entertainment we have in class. His nickname is
Anziano Wild Card because you never know what he is gonna do next. He is also
probably my closest friend in the class other than Sorella Pacheco. He
sits right next to me, which is a struggle. We work really well together,
but we also tend to mess around. So Anziano Rummins is funny because of
the way he is (you can tell its an aspen cause of the way it is
). Its hard
to explain. For example one day in class we were doing practice teaching
and Sorella Pacheco and I got paired with Anziani Rummins and Lewis.
Anziano Lewis gave this great intro about how they were missionaries and they
had a message about Christ to share with us, and would we like to hear
it. Then it was Anziano Rummins turn. He gives us this like soul
piercing look, points his finger to the sky and says "Dio!" (Which
means God) and then nothing. We both lost it. We were laughing so
hard. We both felt bad because the reason he stopped was because that was
all he had for that sentence, and he has a harder time with the language, so it
takes him longer. But it was just so funny! (I'll have you know
that it probably isn't that funny to you, but I am laughing so hard as I type
this story, and it happened like 5 days ago... it was funny okay?) He is
one of the hardest working students in the class, and is always the first to
volunteer (much to Anziano Lewis's dismay).
Anziano Lewis and Anziano Rummins
are the only missionaries in our district going to Rome instead of Milan.
Anziano Welch is super funny too,
and he sits next to Sorella Pacheco. He is very outgoing and knows
everyone in the zone (He was the old Zone leader, so that probably helped.) He
really likes to quote movies, which is super fun. The newest quote is
from holes "smaller shovel, smaller hole" One time we were having a
meeting on sunday, and we were watching an old broadcast. Anziano Welch fell
asleep with is head resting on his hand. he was doing that thing where
his head falls back and then moves forward. Then he would wake himself
up, because his head would fall too far back. Soon we all were watching
him and trying to keep from laughing. I tried to look to the other side
of the room, but Anziano Ross was also on the verge of laughing. Sorella
pacheco was shaking from trying to hold it in, and Anziano Wilks was slapping
himself to keep himself awake. Anziano Kjar had the biggest smile on his
face (as always). Basically no where was safe to look, but straight down
at my desk. So I would stare at my desk with my hands blocking any view
of people for long periods of time trying not to laugh. Anziano Ross got
a video of him dozing off. The video was 3 min. The time he spent dozing
off was almost an hour lol.
Anziano Wilks is like the complete
opposite of Anziano Welch (his companion). He is very nice and funny, but
is not as outgoing, and not as outwardly passionate. they are an awesome
companionship though. Anziano Wilks is very similar to Anziano Ross in
that he super cares about people and is very kind. He also has this
hilarious dry humor.
That is my district!!
I also have this friend here that is
also a military brat! Her family is stationed in germany, and we get along
really well. We are hoping to be companions one day after we are able to
keep from talking too long lol. Her birthday was today, so we decorated
her door.
